Because of the eclecticism of its landscapes and history, the dynamism and diversity of its culture, the quality of the living conditions with the European Green Capital Award, Nantes is often ranked first in the list of cities where it feels good to live.


Sixth city of France, Nantes metropole gathers twenty-four cities and has around 609.000 inhabitants. Second French agglomeration in terms of job growth, Nantes has been elected to head Eurocities, a network that works for the defence of metropoles interests alongside European bodies.


With 57m² of green spaces by inhabitants, Nantes possesses more than a hundred parks and gardens. Some real nature spots in the city. Among them, the beautiful “Jardin des plantes”, the Grand Blottereau park, and also the “Petit-Port” and its hippodrome. We can also find the edges of the Loire and of the Erdre, one of the most beautiful French rivers, which flows into the river at Nantes.

Nantes is also a big sporting city with some high level teams : Nantes Métropole Athlétisme and Racing Club Nantes for athletics, Rezé-Nantes Basket in basketball, FC Nantes in football and also Handball Club de Nantes in handball.
